KOINONIA OFFERS FALL COURSE ON CHRISTIAN PEACEMAKING
On
Tuesday evenings at 7 pm, from Sept. 24 - Nov 19, Koinonia facilitated
a class on "Peacemaking in an Age of Terror." Historically,
Koinonia has always been opposed to war from the basis of our
faith in the nonviolent gospel that Jesus taught. Fighting violence
with violence only creates new generations of terrorists. Yet,
this peace that we seek among people must first be found within
ourselves. Christ is the Healer of all brokenness; of all the
violence that exists within the human heart. It is in relationship
with God that we discover peace within ourselves and among others
"the peace that passes all understanding." Our God is
not a god of retaliation, but the God of reconciliation and to
Him do we put our trust. During the next two months we will be
discussing peacemaking from the Christian perspective. Feel free
to join us, if possible, on Tuesday nights this fall.
