NASHUA AND LITTLE BEAR

I once met a man name Nashua and his dog Little Bear.

Little Bear Hardly ever barks and never bites, why he even sleeps with a kitten between his paws. You might say he is a peace-loving dog just like his friend Nashua, who wears a clown nose everywhere he goes.

"Why do you wear that red nose?"I asked Nashua.

"glad you asked" he replied. "I wear this nose not for clowning around but for peace. I have seen people get mad and do mean things; why even countries get mad and go to war.

So one day I asked God how could I help to bring peace into this world and He gave me the idea to wear a red nose for peace.

"Not for an hour or two; not for a day or two; not for a week or two; not for a month or two; or not even a year or two----but for the rest of my life".

"But Nashua, what about when you go to bed?"
"Yes, I wear it even when I go to bed."
"What about when you take a shower?"
Yes, I wear it even in the shower."
"What if it falls off of your nose?"
"Well,"he replied,"I'll wash my nose and back on it will go."

Nashua gives out noses to everyone he meets and asks them to wear it for Peace.
"How many peace noses have you given to people?"I asked.
"Thousands and more"; I have given them to policemen, ministers, priests, doctors, lawyers, big and small people; chubby and thin; rich and poor. Whoever will wear the red noses of peace, maybe for a minute, maybe for a day.
"Will you wear one?" he asked me. "Maybe you will keep it near by, then if you get mad instead of saying mean things, put on the peace nose. What do you think will happen? Maybe you will make others laugh , then you can tell them why you wear a red nose."
Well, how about you, if you get mad or see a friend getting mad how about putting on the red nose of peace and see what happens.

Nashua would like to see noses of peace on everyone big and little--it could make a difference, don't you think? Have a Happy Peace Day?
