Koinonian Invited to deliver commencement addressat St. Ambrose University in DavenporT, Iowa.
Koinonia Director Bren Dubay travels May 15 to Davenport, Iowa to address the St.
Ambrose Class of 2005 their families, friends, faculty and staff. President Ed Rogalski
said of her selection, “Bren Dubay is an exceptional role model for our students. Her life
resonates with the spirit that comes from giving oneself unselfishly to public service.
She has earned well-deserved recognition as a writer, an educator and a human rights
activist. I look forward to learning from her and learning more about Koinonia and its
remarkable history.”
Founded in 1882 by the first bishop of the Diocese of Davenport, John McMullen, St.
Ambrose consistently makes U. S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges
list. With over fifty majors, St. Ambrose serves a student body of some 4,000.
"I'm honored to have been asked to deliver this address." said Dubay. “As a former
college professor, I am so very aware that these young people are our future. I will be
sharing thoughts about peacemaking as a way of life. About living life unafraid.”
Koinonia, founded in 1942 as an intentional Christian community, is located on Highway
49 South. It is open daily for tours and visits to its museum and store.
