Charitable Gift Annuity

While Koinonia is an ecumenical community and not affiliated with the Mennonite Church, we have partnered with the highly respected and financially sound Mennonite Foundation to offer several life income plans. The oldest and simplest is the charitable gift annuity. In exchange for a minimal gift of $5000 cash or securities, the Mennonite Foundation will agree to pay you a guaranteed, fixed annual income for your lifetime. This income may start now or at a later date, such as retirement. The rate of the annuity is based on the ages of the annuitants, you or another person. You will incur no immediate capital gain on the transfer of appreciated securities, and part of your annuity payment will be tax-free. On the death of the income beneficiary (you and/or another person), Koinonia will have use of the funds to further its mission. A charitable remainder trust and charitable lead trust can also be established through the Mennonite Foundation.
